Don't get me wrong, maybe it's an accident, but Is it me or is this one being described very differently? A man runs down pedestrians outside a mosque... yet there isn't the standard manic "possible terror" attack/hate crime labeling before the facts have been established. Had it been a person of color... well you know how that goes.
Hate hearing this---more heartbreak for Londoner's. However, I will return for a visit in the future in spite of the recent events. One should not give up living or enjoying life just because there are those who wish to screw up people's lives. I totally enjoyed my previous visits. London is a fascinating place.
Mike Venice Muslims don't attack mosques over religious difference. It called terrorism. You should look up the definition. The ME has been engulfed in war for the last two decades, majority of Muslims don't live in the ME. Look it up. To somehow equate this as Muslims killing Muslims and imply some type of inherent problem with Muslims is disgusting. Check your self. Educate yourself. Before you turn into a pseudo intellectual bigot.
Apparently three men in the van, one caught on the scene, two others ran away. Don't jump to conclusions speculating if this is Muslim extremist terrorism, a revenge attack against the Muslim faith, or something else. Don't be ignorant by jumping to conclusions, let the facts be known first!
It would be irresponsible for a news outlet to claim terrorism without facts to support such a claim, and people would be even more furious about "fake news" if they resorted to instant tabloid level journalism.
Most media outlets jump ahead to conclusions like a Fox News. Report it than to find they didn't report it accurately. Npr wants report what they know for sure.
CNN did it to have a creditable story to report on.....if you want political rhetoric to make you feel better.Or, you can just say, this is horrible and shouldn't have happened to anyone.
Why do they keep saying "there's one person arrested" instead of "the driver has been arrested?"Also, I find it suspicious that the driver ran into a crowd in front of a Mosque and no one is pointing out that the targets were obviously Muslim.
A terrorist attack on Muslim worshippers leaving a mosque during the busy season of Ramadan. There, fixed the description for you, NPR. Don't tailor your articles and tone based on who the victims are.
I just exited the tube station on Black Horse Lane yesterday. It's 2 stops from finsbury Park. Dodging these muslim attacks is getting to be a full time job.
