I saw one too in California inside a man made pond at the Holy Mtn in San Bernardino County. We were in a Christian Youth Retreat and I saw a huge snake swimming in the pond. I thought it was a water snake. So I approached it and was talking to it. My husband said to get away cus it was a rattle snake. The snake came towards me and passed right by my feet and didn't even try to attack and went and stood by the door of one of the cabins.
My husband reported it to the owner of the ranch, who then came with some weird looking stick. I thought he was gonna remove it, but instead he killed it. I was so upset cus it was a beautiful and huge snake, that was probably there before the ranch was built and was killed on its habitat
That is right next door to my county! Snakes are common. I have had to temove a 5 ft rat snake 3 times now from trying to eat a broody hen. They grow over 6 ft. I have yet to see a wild indigo. They are so very rare.Alligators, crocodiles, spiders snakes and lots of bugs. I love this place!
